East to West 2006

East To West was recorded at British Grove Studios in the Chiswick neighborhood of London around the corner from the original Decca studios where the Beatles auditioned in 1962.  The album was written shortly after the attacks on September 11th and the writing reflects the pervailing mood of ambivelance and reflection.    Mark Knopfler joins in on guitar for "Before the Bells", Tim O'Brien performs "I Will Wait For You" and "Last Dream of Will Keene" and PB duets with Dr. Ralph Stanley on the Stanley Brothers classic "Little Glass of Wine".  While on tour with Dr. Ralph and Laura Cantrell in the UK, PB met the great BBC dj John Peel which inspired one of the album's standout tracks.  Jen Gunderman makes her debut on electric piano, the great Kelly Hogan sings harmony, and Richard Bennett returns to solo on "When I'm In Love" and play tres on 'Conte Hondo.'
